In this presentation we will explore trends, challenges, and market expectations in the field of electronic ID documents:
“Digital ID” and “Mobile ID” in the context of Government ID have become not only buzzwords, but also turn into real-life implementations. We will highlight the differences between Digital ID, Mobile ID and the electronic ID document, elaborating on pros and cons of each one.
Biometric cards with integrated fingerprint sensors are also a topic of interest not only for the banking sector, but also for a broader ID scope. There are various advantages of using fingerprints in authentication and access not only for end users, but also for organizations that want to authenticate their employees, suppliers or other third parties and give them access to restricted areas, networks or data. In our presentation, we will explore how biometric cards can prevent multiple risks associated with secure authentication.
Another topic gaining traction is post-quantum cryptography (PQC) which refers to cryptographic algorithms that aim to be efficiently secure against attacks performed by quantum computers. The industry is taking actions for early preparation, so that appropriate and commercially feasible solutions are available when post quantum computing become a reality.
