Banco de México has more than 50 years of experience in manufacturing banknotes, with two printing works and 411 employees. Covid-19 pandemic was declared in Mexico in March 2020. All productive operations in both sites were stopped and reestablished three months later; since that, Banco de Mexico focused its efforts on produce and issue four banknotes of its new “G” series, and resuming the machinery Overhaul and replacement, in the Mexico City site.
The pandemic changed the normal operations, it was necessary to reinforced the ability to react to to unexpected events, developed the multifunctionality of its employees and processes, as well as confirmed the importance of timely supply of raw materials for operational continuity throw a good relationship and communication with its suppliers.
The strongest factors to achieve their objectives were an appropriate coordination of their human resources with a strong analysis and a proper production planning.
